Enterprise Grid Integration Set up

Once you have installed an Enterprise Grid product on a GridLink farm and wish to share the farm between AXIS and other Grid enabled applications, you can simply run GridLink Utility, select the menu "Farm Profile - Farm Settings", click on "Enterprise Grid" page and specify a few parameters.

Please note that you need to restart GridLink service after making the changes.

DataSynapse GridServer

1. Prerequisites

The current GridLink version supports GridServer version 5. If you need GridLink integrated with GridServer 4.2, please contact GGY.

Before you select GridServer integration mode, please make sure:

1. GridServer Manager has been installed and configured properly.

2. GridServer Engine has been installed on every server on the GridLink farm. Please use "1-Click Install With Properties" and specify the "User Name" property as the same as the server name.

3. GridServer SDK/Driver have been installed on every server on the GridLink farm. You must include the directory where certain DLLs (built with Visual Studio .Net 2008, e.g. DSBridgeVC9.dll, DSDriverVC9.dll, etc.) are located into the "PATH" environment variable. A typical example is "C:\GridServerSDK-win32\cppdriver\bin\vc9".

4. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable is installed on every server on the GridLink farm.

5. Please note that "Client Authentication" is enabled by default. Please refer to "GridServer Administration Guide" about how to configure the Driver with a valid grid User identify that is associated with a Driver Profile.

2. Settings in GridServer

The integration requires a new Service Type "GridConnector" (using a DLL "GridConnector-GS-SRV.DLL", which comes with the GridLink installation package) to be registered in GridServer. Please follow the instructions below:

1) Run GridServer Administration Tool.

2) Select the menu "Users - Credential Repository".

3) Enter the user name of the GridLink service account (the format is "DomainName/UserName", please note that it is a FORWARD SLASH), enter the password and then click on "Add" button.

4) Select the menu "Services - Resource Deployment", click on "win32 - lib - Staging View", browse the file GridConnector-GS-SRV.DLL, and click on "Upload". When you see "Deploy" button, click on it.

5) Select the menu "Services - Service Type Registry", enter a new "Service Type Name" as "GridConnector", specify the "Implementation" as "dynamicLibrary", then click on "Add" button.

6) Fill in the "Service Type Registry" form (you can use the default value for fields not listed below):
